BEMÆRK: Ansøgningsfristen er overskredet
A 2 1/2-year postdoctoral position is open from 15 October 2023 or as soon as possible thereafter, in the project MIGRAGEN: Using novel microfluidic gradient devices to drive genetic and functional understanding of spatiotemporal gradients in tumor microenvironments.
Research environment
The project is a highly interdisciplinary collaboration between four groups, at the Dept. of Biology (Prof. Stine F. Pedersen, Prof. Albin Sandelin), the Technical University of Denmark (Assoc. Prof. Rodolphe Marie) and Federal Institute for Materials Research and Testing, Berlin (Prof. Ute Resch-Genger). The candidate will be based in the Pedersen group, working closely with the other groups. Together, the groups employ multiple postdocs, PhD students, and undergraduate students and provide a strong, international research environment.
Research project and postdoc qualifications
The project aims to develop and apply a new generation of microfluidic devices that allow constitution of spatiotemporally precise gradients of acidosis and hypoxia, key properties of the tumor microenvironment. The project has been active for 3 years and is now at the stage where the focus is addressing key biological questions on impact of the applied gradients on cancer cell-macrophage interactions, chemotaxis, and chemotherapy resistance.
The postdoc will be responsible for all work on this project in the Pedersen lab in close collaboration with the three other groups. The ideal candidate has a strong background in cancer cell biology with particular expertise in advanced imaging and image analysis. Expertise in immune oncology and molecular biology approaches is an advantage.
Other essential requirements are a PhD in a life science field, a documented track record of strong scientific publications, and excellent written and spoken English. The candidate must be able to work autonomously as well as in a team and have a passion for working in a highly interdisciplinary environment. Duties will include teaching and supervision in addition to research.

The position is open from 15 October 2023 or as soon as possible thereafter.
