We are looking for a highly motivated staff scientist to support our efforts in immunology and in securing funding to a new international research project focusing on chemical induced skin diseases in Africa. The position is a fixed-term position limited to a period of 6 months. The starting date is 1 November 2023.



Our research

The focus of the research is to understand the role of T cells in in inflammatory skin diseases with a special focus on responses induced by chemical exposure. We are in addition aiming to initiate a broad international research project on chemical induced skin diseases in Africa. Our group is built on teamwork, where it is expected that group members are supportive towards one another.



Your job

You will join an inclusive research team. Your tasks will be to contribute to and support the research projects in the group on an ad hoc basis when needed, to disseminate your expertise to new lab members, support the lab management and assist in fund raising to the new international project.



Profile

We are looking for a highly motivated and enthusiastic staff scientist with the following competencies and experience:

Essential experience and skills

  • It can be an advantages if you have a PhD in Life sciences or related
  • You have documented experience in working with in vivo models of skin diseases
  • You have an active interest in T cell biology
  • You have proven an ability to envision, plan and execute a research project
  • Good English skills, written and spoken
Desirable experience and skills

  • Experience and knowledge in working with skin immunology
  • Experience with Flow Cytometry
  • Experience with setting up and organizing immunological labs


Place of employment

The place of employment is at Department of Immunology and Microbiology, University of Copenhagen. We offer creative and stimulating working conditions in dynamic and international research environment. Our research facilities include modern laboratories located at the Maersk Tower.



Terms of employment

The average weekly working hours are 37 hours per week.

Employment will be in accordance with the provisions of the collective agreement between the Danish Ministry of Taxation and AC (the Danish Confederation of Professional Associations). The monthly salary will be based on the number of years of work experience (seniority) with the possibility to negotiate a salary supplement based on prior experiences and qualifications. The employer will pay an additional 17.1 % to your pension fund.
